Overcoming Obstacles through Mental-Morphosis
By agreeing to review this book, I am not endorsing any of the behaviors or the discussions about diagnosis and treatment. I am certainly not in support of the use of illicit substances or the practice of microdosing psychedelics outside of a research healthcare setting. I am, however, in support of Brandon as a driven individual, and I imagine there are many that will find inspiration and hope in his transformation. We should not view this book as a clinical reference. Instead, we should try to walk his journey and appreciate the underlying message. This is not science, but one man's life and experiences. It is a story of overcoming adversity and the pursuit of healing. This book emphasizes the importance of an enduring companionship, and the pursuit of meaning and purpose in one's life. Simply put, this is the story of Brandon, an unfiltered chaotic narrative that artistically mirrors his life.

In sharing his story of transformation, Brandon Hillaker shows us how to be human. In a world where we write each other, and even ourselves, off, Brandon's strength is in rediscovering himself. As we learn from him, we also learn the world is shaped in ways it does not have to be. His metamorphosis is ours, and we should be grateful for it.

In every life, there is a story. In Brandon Hillaker, there is a gifted storyteller who will have you loathing his badass self, then cheering him on through each of his transformations to greatness. Brandon's brutal honesty will humble the staidest reader to reflect deeply on how lives are restricted through social expectations while also issuing a fervent shake-up of our cultural perceptions of mental health. Brandon's story will transform each reader who truly gets it, and, like the monarch, these transformations are essential for our survival.

To read this book is to witness the extraordinary resilience of one person-and the quiet resilience that exists in all of us. It is a story that moves beyond diagnosis to reveal the complex realities of living with bipolar disorder, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder, and the profound impact these conditions can have on family, self, and hope.
