Award Recognition
Tri for Hope has earned Official Selection status at three film festivals:
The Eudaimonia Project Film Festival
Royal Starr Film Festival
Mental Health Warrior Film Festival

Tri for Hope: From Hell to Paradise tells the inspiring story of endurance, resilience, and the power of hope through an extraordinary journey of mental health advocacy.

The feature documentary follows Brandon Hillaker as he completes a never done before, unprecedented  400-mile triathlon from Hell, Michigan, to Paradise, Michigan. Over the course of 96 hours, he cycled 330 miles from Hell Mi. to Mackinaw City, swam 5 miles across the Mackinaw Straights, and ran 65 miles to Paradise Mi. with one mission: to challenge the stigma surrounding mental illness and inspire hope for those struggling with mental health challenges and thoughts of suicide.

"I want to instill in people that the only reason we think the impossible is impossible is because people tell us it is." — Brandon Hillaker

At the heart of the film is Hillaker's own story of perseverance and recovery. In 2013, he survived a suicide attempt and spent years rebuilding his life through treatment, recovery, and a commitment to speaking openly about mental health. Rather than allowing his past to define him, he transformed it into a mission to help others discover hope, resilience, and purpose.

Tri for Hope: From Hell to Paradise is more than a documentary about an endurance event. It is a story of redemption, courage, and the belief that recovery is possible. By combining an extraordinary athletic challenge with deeply personal storytelling, the film invites audiences to rethink mental illness, break down stigma, and recognize that hope can be found even in life's darkest moments.
